In the vast, rugged landscape of Chile, lies a challenge that is both daunting and mesmerizing: the Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano on Earth and the pinnacle of Chilean peaks. Embarking on this 10-day odyssey, I guided a trio of entrepreneurs, each fueled by their own aspirations and ambitions. Much like the intricate dance of starting and nurturing a business, our expedition through the high-altitude desert required strategy, acclimatization, and relentless perseverance. Starting from 4,000m and progressing through a series of ascents, we scaled two 5,000m peaks, a formidable 6,000m, and finally set our sights on the nearly 7,000m zenith of Ojos.
With every step, the thinning air and vastness of the surrounding volcanic landscape intensified our journey’s introspective nature. As we ascended, each individual grappled with the altitude's physical demands and the weight of their own thoughts. The barren, surreal landscapes, combined with the daunting challenges of such high altitudes, fostered profound moments of contemplation. Amidst this dreamy backdrop, every team member experienced transformative revelations, making life-altering decisions that would shape their futures in the entrepreneurial world and beyond.
As night fell over the desolate Chilean landscape, a sea of stars illuminated our path, adding to the ethereal atmosphere. These nocturnal canvases served as our guiding light, providing solace during our most challenging moments. The culmination of our journey at the Ojos del Salado was not merely about reaching its peak.
